Many times it happens that we feel like eating idli, but then we think that who should make a solution by grinding lentils or who brought it from the market. There is also a problem with idli or dosa batter that you cannot use it by keeping it for a long time.
That is why today we have brought such a recipe that you can make whenever you want, immediately that too with very little effort. Rava Idli which does not take any effort to make but it is very tasty to eat. And there is no need to pre-soak anything to make it, that’s why we call it Instant Rava Idli.
. It will work even if there is no sambar with it. Because it tastes very tasty with any chutney (like coconut, peanut, onion-tomato). We like rava idli with chutney more than sambar. So let’s make it. rava_idli_with_chutney Required Ingredients
Sooji/Rava – 1 cup (will make 16 idlis)
Mustard – 1/2 tsp
Ginger – 2 inches finely chopped
Chana dal – 1 tbsp
Green chili – 2-3
Curd – 1 cup (beat the curd well and keep in mind that the curd should be thick)
Water – 3/4 cup
Oil or Ghee – 1 tbsp
Eno Fruit Salt – 1 packet and 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 7-8
Capsicum – 1/2 cup finely chopped (by the way you can add any vegetable of your mind like grated carrots, beans or peas)
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp finely chopped
How to make Rava Idli Recipe
Put oil or desi ghee in a pan. When the ghee becomes hot, then add mustard seeds to it. When the mustard starts crackling, add gram dal to it. When the gram dal turns a little red, then add green chili, curry leaves and ginger to it. Now stir it on low gas for a minute.
Now immediately put rava in it and fry it on low gas for 3-4 minutes. Keep in mind that you should not allow the rava to turn red. Semolina should remain white, so fry it on low gas. After 4 minutes take it off the gas and let it cool down.
Till the semolina cools down, finely chop whatever vegetable you want to add. Like we have put capsicum in this. Just keep in mind that whatever vegetable you put, chop it finely or grate it. Keep the water hot in whichever place you want to keep your idli stand.
When the rava cools down, add vegetables, curd, salt and water to it. Now make a mixture of it well and leave it for half an hour so that everything dissolves well.
When you want to make idli, then add eno in it and mix it well. Now put oil in the plates of idli and pour the batter in it. Pour the solution as much as it can comfortably enter it. Do not pour batter in the bottom plate of the idli stand.
When the water starts boiling, put a stand of idli in it and let it cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes take it out and let it cool down for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes take out the idli with the help of a spoon and serve it with chutney of your choice or with sabar.
